  17.   There is one quick MOD when removing the detachable front display:
  18. by cutting the green wire it will give you TX on MARS only.  It RX's out
  19. of band but not that far before it dies on RX.

  37. This modification is not really a modification, but an
  38. undocumented feature that Kenwood Corporation has no record of.
  39. This modification has not been completely tested, so those who
  40. feel brave enough to try this out are welcome to it, but I am not
  41. responsible for any ill-effects as a result of utilizing this
  42. feature.
  43.  
  44. What this feature offers to the end-user is an extremely powerful
  45. feature: doubling your memory capacity.  With the Kenwood TM-941A,
  46. the radio has ONE VFO, ONE CALL, and 100 memory positions that are
  47. labelled 00 thru 99.  This feature offers the user another
  48. 100 memory positions PER BAND!!!
  49.  
  50. How to perform this undocumented feature:
  51.  
  52. 1.  Have the radio turned on.
  53. 2.  Press F and REV simultaneously.
  54. 3.  Memory position A1 will show; this memory position cannot be
  55.     eliminated thru the MR/F function.
  56. 4.  Work the VFO in a similar manner that you would with the
  57.     radio in normal mode.
  58. 5.  When you save the memory position, take a look around at the
  59.     layout of these memory positions -- the memories are labelled
  60.     hexidecimally; that is, they are labelled AA thru A9,
  61.     B0 thru B9 until you have reached J9.  J9 is the 100th
  62.     position in this alter memory area.
  63. 6.  When you are finished, just press the F and the REV buttons
  64.     simultaneously, and you are back in the normal memory area.

  66. As stated before, this feature has been found to be static in
  67. nature; that is, when the power is turned off, the memory
  68. positions are still retained and do not interfer with the
  69. original memory area.  Mind you, this memory feature has not
  70. been completely tested, SO BE EXTRMELY CAREFUL!  I ASSUME NO
  71. LIABILITY FOR FINDING THIS FEATURE SINCE I AM DOING THIS AS A
  72. BENEFIT TO AMATEUR RADIO!

  74. BTW, Kenwood does not have any records and/or any comments
  75. regarding this feature.  I suspect that this feature is for
  76. diagnostic purposes and should be treated as such.

  99. Referring to the UNDOCUMENTED feature regarding 100 EXTRA MEMORY 
  100. positions -- this will only work if you have installed either
  101. (if not both -- why not both?) modifications to the tribander
  102. radio.  These features are: EXTENDED RECEIVE and CROSS-BAND 
  103. REPEAT.  Please install these modifications BEFORE trying to
  104. utilize those extra 100 memory positions.
